Lindore Pearlnella Hester was born to the late Luther Linton and Estella Linton, September 22nd, 1932, in Duanvale District, Parish of Trelawny Jamaica, West Indies. She was the fourth child to Luther and Estella Linton. She was brought up in a loving Christian home in Jamaica. Ms. Hester attended the Duanvale Elementary School. She left school at an early age to pursue a job working in her uncles shop in Kingston, Jamaica to help provide for her family. She later went to pursue a career in hair dressing where she achieved a diploma at Leo School of beauty culture.

Ms. Hester fell in love at a very young age, from that union her beloved son Ludlow Greeves was born. 19 years later she traveled to the U.S and met her second and final love Cornelius Porter, from that union their beloved daughter Brenda Porter was born, her miracle baby as she called her. She was very excited to have a baby girl so late in her life. Ms. Hester enjoyed life to the fullest; she enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family, gardening, sewing, playing keno and going to the casino.

Ms. Hester was brought up in a Christian home in Duanvale, Jamaica, she never lost her Faith in God. When she moved to Chicago, she continued to follow Christ, she initially joined Antioch Baptist Church. She later met Rev Daniels in 1978 and was brought into the Coptic Way of Life, where she joined True Temple of Solomon under the Leadership of Dr King Peter Banks. When King Peter passed in 1989, she decided that she would stay home for a while. A short time later, she decided to worship under the Leadership of her Christian brother Archbishop Titus Lee (Candace Queen Shiphrah) with her baby girl. Her last place of worship was at 1st Corinthians Church with Pastor Spivey where she was a member for many years serving God with her brother Bolton Linton & sister-in-law Fannie.

Mommy took ill in December of 2012, at that time the doctors was ready to give up, but her family had other plans. Her beloved sister Hopie, came from London to help will her back to life. She made a huge recovery and went on to live independently back to her everyday fun life of cooking, gardening, and hanging out with family and friends.

Six years later the doctors again told her that she only had a few months to live. At that time, she decided to move to Arizona with her daughter, some of her grandchildren and great grands. She was very strong-willed and wanted to spend the rest of her days with her family. As time went on, she kept fighting and praying for her family, as they wanted more time. Her words to everyone was that whatever will be, will be and she was okay with that. Ms. Hester had some very bad days and some very good days over the past 11 months, she had a few hospitals stays that seemed to last forever. Some days she didn’t think she would wake up the next day. She often joked about her illness but none of us thought it was funny. She was always up on the go, trying to stay busy, even at times trying to prepare a meal for us. She was very determined and strong-willed to stay active as long as she had strength in her body.

On Wednesday, November 20th, 2019, mom got up for her breakfast, she walked to the table and she was very weak but didn’t want any help. After breakfast she wanted to lay down and we knew something was not right. Mom didn’t want to become dependent on anyone. Mom spent the last 13 hours with her daughter, granddaughters and some of her great grandchildren holding their hands, hugging them, and telling us she loved us. Mom took her last breath at 6:14 am November 21, 2019 with her granddaughter (her Ke-Ke) Keniesha Peavy at her bedside.

Ms. Lindore Pearlnella Hester book has ended at the 87th chapter. Her everlasting memories will live on within the hearts of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Luther and Estella Linton, sister Marcella Lewis in 2010, sister Elsie Hyatt in 2011, and brother Osbourne Linton a few months ago 8/17/2019.
