
Louis and Marilyn Quarterley of Mesa, AZ, recently passed away peacefully at home. Louis, 88 years old, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, and Marilyn, 85 years old, passed on Sunday, September 21, 2025. Formerly of Brockton and Bridgewater, MA, the couple had been together for 70 years, first dating while attending Brockton High, married shortly thereafter, and were known to rarely ever be apart. Louis was employed by Randolph Manufacturing Co for many years, and then worked for the Brockton School system as a custodian until his retirement. Marilyn was employed by Ganley’s Clothing until its closing, then at the Crescent Credit Union
where she eventually retired. Louis was an avid fisherman and handyman, while Marilyn enjoyed crafting and spending close time with her loved ones. The couple was known to appreciate a fun night out on the town dancing and great laughs with family and friends, but more so found true joy and purpose in being dedicated and loving parents and grandparents.Marilyn could frequently be heard saying, “aren’t we so lucky to have each other?” and now,
more so than ever, her family looks back at the couple’s unconditional love with true joy and gratitude.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Annie Quarterley, brother, Herbert “Red” Quarterley, and sister, Helen Quarterley. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth
and Roy Boss, step father, John Cignarella, brother, Wilbur “Bud” Boss, and sisters, Martha Raymond, Joanie Crowley, and Deborah “Debbie” Rogerson. Both are survived by their son, Kevin Quarterley, Kevin’s wife, and beloved daughter-in-law, Gail Quarterley, and their only grandchild, Meagan Quarterley. Louis and Marilyn will be greatly missed by the many who’s lives they touched, and are now reunited forever in the hereafter.
