Luke Joseph Fowler, age 91, passed away peacefully after courageously fighting illness for many months. Born and raised in Chicago, Luke lived a full and vibrant life marked by love and an infectious zest for living.
Luke proudly served his country in the United States Army as a young man, stationed in Europe. Upon returning from his military service, he married the love of his life Lois. He continued his career with the B&O Railroad before transitioning into banking and ultimately working in finance for a teaching hospital in Chicago, where he completed his professional journey.
For 66 wonderful years, Luke was the devoted husband and best friend to his beloved wife, Lois. He was the loving father of daughters Donna (Jeff Dorais) and Debra, and dear brother-in-law to Pat Dean. Luke was preceded in death by his parents, Luke and Rose.
Luke and Lois relocated to Arizona in 2021 to enjoy the rest of their retirement. Known for his charm and warmth, Luke had a gift for making everyone around him feel special. He was an avid and excellent golfer who brought joy and competitive spirit to every game, delighting in both the sport and the friendly wagers that often accompanied tournaments. If he wasn’t playing golf he was talking about golf or watching it on TV. His love for life extended to the dance floor, where he and Lois danced together until he was 90, creating cherished memories at karaoke gatherings with their close circle of friends.
He was a great father and husband, a decent man who will be deeply missed by many and forever adored by his family. His legacy of love, laughter, and living life to the fullest will continue in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of Luke’s life will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at 2pm to 3:30pm located Fountain of Sun in the activity center, 540 S. 80th St. Mesa, AZ 85208
