

Mable was born October 12, 1932 in Calvertville, IN. She was one of 4 children. She was preceded in death by her older brother Harwood Crites, older sister Oneta Noel, son Bradley, and daughter Pamela Myers. She is survived by husband Mauriece, daughter Tamara, son Martin, and twin sister Mary Sheets. She was loved by many including her nieces, nephews, step-children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She graduated from Bloomfield High school, continued her education receiving a Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, and Master degree from Purdue University. She studied at the Peabody School of Vanderbilt University, followed by Advanced Education study for the blind at the University of Southern Mississippi. She also attended Butler University to benefit her teaching skills. She began as a teacher at Delphi, IN, teaching there for 10 years. She relocated to Indianapolis, IN where she began teaching at Indiana School for the Blind. She was an enthusiastic Shakespearian educator. She took great pride in the number of students she guided on her forensics (speech) teams, bringing home 1st place 10 of the 13 years. In her retirement she continued to educate, teaching senior citizens AARP safe driver skills. She loved participating with fellow quilters, making quilts for the benefit of under privileged. She was an active participant in the production of the annual quilting shows at Golden Vista Resort featuring: stitch technique, craftsmanship, and level of skills. She was the program chair of the Christian Women’s organization of Golden Vista Resort, AZ., where she attended church services regularly. One of her greater enjoyments was the participation at the Cowboy Church, Kings Ranch Road, Gold Canyon, AZ. Reading bible scripture, working with the program director, and reading her own poetry upon request.
Mable will be missed by many. A Celebration of Life will be held on March 4, 2016, at 2pm at Gold Canyon United Methodist Church, 6640 S. Kings Ranch Road Gold Canyon, AZ 85118. The Indiana Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park in Mesa, Arizona.
