Marcy graduated from High School in 1943. While WWII was raging on, she worked at International Harvester as “Rosie the Riveter”.
Marcy met John Carroll at the Eagle’s Ballroom. They married in 1945 and honeymooned at Niagara Falls. They had three beautiful children; Suzanne, Joanne, and James. John was transferred to Davenport, Iowa in 1951. Marcy was an office manager for a publishing company for 12 years. Marcy and John celebrated their 25th anniversary by taking a trip to Australia and New Zealand. In 1971, John was once again transferred, this time to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Marcy being a very active women, was bored so she decided to go work for JC Penny’s where she retired from after 14 years of service.
In 1986, they retired to Mesa, Arizona at the Fountain East Mobile Home Park. Marcy and John made the most of their retirement by traveling to Ireland, Europe, Canada, and various places in the US. They also adventured on a few Caribbean cruises. On Marcy’s 65th birthday, she decided she would take a Hot Air Balloon ride. She was fearless!
They became grandparents in 1986 to Eric. What a joy that was in their life. Sadly, Marcy lost the love of her life, John, in 2006. Sometimes with loss, comes life. Marcy was to welcome a new title as great grandmother to EJ, Lindsey, and Emery.
Marcy was like the energizer bunny and just keep going and going. She loved playing cards of any kind, bingo, taking bus trips to the casino and the theatre.
She just loved life!
We love and miss her dearly, but she is always in our hearts!
