Marcus Roy Thorsteinsson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marcus Roy Thorsteinsson, who left us on November 4, 2024, at the age of 42. Born on March 31, 1982, in Arlington, Texas, Marcus brought warmth, kindness, and joy to everyone who knew him.Marcus earned his Juris Doctor degree from the California Western School of Law, a milestone that marked the beginning of a successful career in law. He worked at DLA Piper, where he was highly respected by his peers and colleagues, and his dedication to his work left a lasting impact. We are immensely proud of all that Marcus achieved, both personally and professionally.

He is survived by his daughter, Sadie Thorsteinsson Vack; his sister, Jennifer Jakemer, and her husband, Jeff, as well as his nephews, Langdon and Brayden. He will also be dearly missed by his parents, Janice and Mark Thorsteinsson; his loving partner, Andrea Brouhard; and her daughter Lily Mundy. Marcus’s greatest joy and light of his life was his beloved daughter, Sadie. . He cherished every moment spent with her, and their bond brought him immense happiness and fulfillment. Marcus also loved spending time with Andrea’s daughter, Lily, who held a special place in his heart. Marcus was also known as the “fun uncle” to his nephews, Langdon and Brayden. He delighted in spending time with them, creating lasting memories and sharing his love of adventure with the next generation. An avid lover of nature, Marcus found peace and inspiration in the great outdoors. He loved to hike and kayak. He was often accompanied on his hikes by his dog, Izzy. His connection to nature brought him solace, and it was a place where he felt truly at home. Marcus was a friend to all. His infectious spirit and kind heart touched everyone he met. He had a way of making people feel special, and his presence was a gift to all who knew him. Marcus left us far too soon, but the memories of his life will always be with us. As we mourn his loss, we celebrate the memories. Marcus’s impact on our lives will never fade.

A visitation for Marcus will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 400 South Power Road, Mesa, AZ 85206, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
