

Born in The Bronx, New York on May 8th, 1937,
Marie graduated from Park Ridge High School in New Jersey, where she grew up with her sister, Eileen and parents, Herbert and Mary Oppermann.
She was married to Robert Joseph Ganssle, father of her three boys, Robert, Gregory and Eugene Ganssle. She also had husbands Joseph Louis Foster and Paula Fakakovi Kaipelea.
In her life, Marie worked as a hair stylist, even owning her own salon in Mesa, which is still standing. Later, she worked as a corrections officer for Maricopa County, achieving the rank of sergeant until being sidelined by an injury in the county jail.
Marie lived in her own home until her death, and cherished her family, church and bingo through 28 years of retirement.
She is survived by her sister, Eileen Kapocius, her youngest son, Gene Ganssle and his wife, Alison Elaine Ganssle; Gregory Ganssle’s widow, Becky Brooks Ganssle; her grandchildren Lyndis Mushin and Andrea Ganssle-Ellis, and great-grandchildren Luke Ellis and Lance Ellis.
Services will be held on September 7th at 2:00 pm at Life Community Church, 717 W Ray Road in Gilbert, Arizona.
