Marilyn Fredricka Bertha Moos was born on a farm four miles southeast of Medina, North Dakota. She was the eighth and youngest child of John and Magdalina Moos.
Marilyn attended school in Medina; graduating high school in 1947. After high school, she attended Beauty School in Bismarck and while there met her husband, Clarence Giese. They married on October 22, 1948 and enjoyed 65 years of marriage before Clarence passed in 2014.
Clarence and Marilyn raised three children, John, Sheila and Mavis. They moved from North Dakota to Washington State in 1956 and remained there until Clarence retired, moving to Arizona in 1992.
Marilyn was a wife, mother and homemaker while the children were young and later in life worked in several jobs. A great cook, she opened a small café, the Wee Bee Inn, that displayed her skills as a cook, her friendliness toward strangers and her capability as a business woman. She also enjoyed traveling, growing orchids in her greenhouse, oil painting and never outgrew her love for flashy cars.
Marilyn was a year-around resident of Mesa; she liked the sun, the heat and the neighbors. She sometimes complained that the roads and stores were too busy during the winter, but missed her friends and neighbors during the summer.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband and infant daughter, Melanie. She was the last surviving sibling in her family. She is succeeded by her children, John Giese of Lacey, WA, Sheila (Jeff) Brown of Salmon, ID and Mavis (Jeff) Rosbach of Buford, GA, five grandchildren, Dylan (Allie) Nelson, Shannon (Dan) Gravett, Zane (Tarra) Brown, Kelsey (Colin) McCulley, Dan (Meredith) Rosbach; and five great-grandchildren Lily and Brian Gravett, Juliana Rosbach, Zaiden Brown and Phoebe Nelson.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 am with the funeral service at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Rd in Mesa, with interment immediately following. Memorials may be sent in Marilyn’s honor to Americare Hospice Foundation, 1212 N Spencer St., Suite 2, Mesa, AZ 85203.
