Jean graduated from high school in Manchester. She was an Administrative Assistant and Office Manager for several years in Dubuque. In the late 1970s, Jean earned her securities and commodities trader’s license. After working in the investment business for over 20 years, in 1992, she retired and returned to Manchester. She worked for the Manchester Area Chamber of Commerce and became a full-time volunteer. Jean volunteered for the American Red Cross, volunteered and served as president of the Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, was on the board of the Friends of the Library, and was a registrar for blood drives and immunization clinics. Jean also served as a deacon and treasurer for the Community Congregational Church in Manchester. In 2014, Jean earned the Bright Star award for her years of outstanding service as a volunteer. In 2016, Jean moved to Arizona to reside near her son.
Jean was preceded in death by beloved husband Victor Hall, her parents and younger siblings Betty and David.
Jean is survived by her youngest brother Jim; daughter Vickie (Joe) Byrne and grandson Joseph Byrne; son Bruce (Staci) Baus; niece Terri (Dennis) Cushing; stepdaughters Cynthia Mades and Peggy Hettinger; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
