Mark was raised in Jordan, Minnesota and attended Jordan High School. In his earlier years, Mark was an avid hunter and enjoyed playing hockey and cheering on the Minnesota North Stars. He was a fan of the Vikings and also enjoyed watching and attending NASCAR races. Mark was a member of the Jordan Volunteer Fire Department from 1963 to 1989 and at one time, served as a captain.
In 2001, Mark retired from his longtime position of facilities supervisor at Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague, Minnesota and moved with his wife Lillian to Casa Grande, Arizona where they enjoyed golf, playing cribbage, and socializing at the local Elks Lodge.
Mark is survived by his children; Paulette (Chip) Krautkremer, Cindy (Rick) Berry, Carol Ann (Dan) Dopudja, Pete Kochlin, Pat Kochlin, and Doug Kochlin; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by wife Lillian; son Daniel “Danny” Kochlin; grandson Daniel Kochlin; brothers, Curt Kochlin and Adam Kochlin; parents Julius and Dorothy.
A private service will be held at a later date.
