His love for outdoors and all it has to offer fueled a passion for hunting and introduced him to a wonderful community where he would make many friends.
Mark was born in Provo, Utah on March 30th, fifty years ago. He and his family moved to Bakersfield, California where he spent his adolescence and graduated from North High. While in Bakersfield, he became the father of his most precious and adored, Krista Marie. His love for her was his greatest joy.
Mark later moved to Mesa, Arizona where he lived out the remainder of his all-too-short life. Here he gained a son, Elijah Stephens, whom he loved dearly and was very proud of.
In 2005, he took a leap of faith and started “Stapley Pest Control, Inc.” It is thought to believe many of his loyal customers kept his services not just for pest control, but for the wonderfully candid conversations and the “Mark Experience.
”
Two years ago Mark would be blessed with a beautiful granddaughter, Emma Grace. She would bring him so much joy.
His love for family would never come in question. He would often slave over his grill in the blistering Arizona heat for friends and family making a meal that has been coined, “Brothers’ Chicken” a family favorite.
Last year, Mark lost his father, Wayne Curtis, on October 12th. We are quite sure the two of them are laughing up a storm and overjoyed to reunite with each other and their beloved dogs.
Meanwhile, here in the real world there are countless who lost a dearly loved friend and many who lost a deeply adored Uncle. Not to mention, Lynn Dee Sands (Jimmy), Darrell Stapley, Todd Stapley (Michelle), Eric Stapley (Cambria), Kristin Stapley Harper (Adam) and Kyle Stapley (Amber) who will forever mourn the absence of their treasured brother and failsafe source of laughter. Lastly, there is a mother, Pam Stapley, whose heart will never beat the same and a world that has lost a brilliant light and tremendous joy. We were the lucky ones.
