Dear Cathy and Jimmy,

Your Mother Martha was a true friend to me and my husband Ed, as well as our two daughters, Erika Lyn Dasse Draeger, and her sister Jessika Lee Dasse Schroeder.

We liked being invited over for a fun visit, as well as a cool dip in the swimming pool.

Martha showed Ed how to wallpaper the entry-way of our house and it sure looked good!

We received the nicest letter and Christmas card. I have read it several times.

I miss the emails that we sent one another!

Our Love,

Ed and Connie Dasse

My friend and Beta sister will be remembered. She has been in my prayers and will continue to be.
May the Angels of the Lord guide you to the bosom of Abraham.
May we meet again day.

Will miss my dear sorority sister Martha! She fought the good fight and ran the race and is now in a better place with the love of her life Jim. The Lord watch between me and thee while we are absent one from the other.

I will miss Martha an untold amount. She was a real lady. Strong and sweet at the same time. I loved to tease Martha about my very fast driving. We shared driving to Beta Sigma Phi meetings and I could tell she was fearful of my fast driving. She never complained to me about it and I could tell she was frightened. She rode shotgun and was my navigator. We frequently got lost, but always found our way. I loved her like a sister and will remember her always. My husband, Craig, would have fought dragons for her. She knew how to smile through all diversity and did. At last, she was ready to join Jim and her pain is gone.

Oh Aunt Martha! How you influenced and enriched our lives! She and Uncle Jim welcomed us into their home way back in 1976, when we accepted teaching positions in Arizona. We spent many holidays, as well as celebrations together, as she watched us welcome our sons, daughters-in-laws, and grandchildren into this world.

We so admired her for her learned independence, after Uncle Jim passed. She always made an effort to stay in touch with family and friends. We will always remember her with our own mothers, laughing and playing on those slot machines!

All of those long phone conversations will be missed! YOU, Martha, will be missed!

To Jimmy, Michelle & Cale and Cathie & Bill

Our deepest sympathy to you. We didn’t see Aunt Martha often, but we always enjoyed visiting with her when she and Uncle Jim came to Apollo to see my Dad or when we visited her in Arizona. She was a special lady and we will miss her.
