

Mary Ann Hagen, 75, of Gold Canyon, Arizona and Big Lake, MN passed away on December 6, 2013. Mary Ann was born Madison, Wisconsin on May 20, 1938 to proud parents Louis and Marion Aasen. When her mother remarried, they moved to Falcon Heights, MN. She graduated from Alexander Ramsey High School in 1956. A year later Mary Ann met the man that she would spend the rest of her life with, Gary Hagen. They met in 1957 in Willmar, Minnesota (the hometown of Gary) while she was attending College. The two married two years later on September 12, 1959, and welcomed two boys into the world. Mary Ann enjoyed spending time with her eight grandchildren, stamp art, cooking and playing cards, particularly bridge. In the later years she learned to play Mah Jongg . Her working career was with North Star Bank in Roseville and White Bear Lake. Her last position was a Customer Service at the bank in Roseville. She was very active in Roseville Lutheran Church in Roseville, MN for the most part of 50 years, participating on church council, church events, and served as Superintendent of the Sunday School for over 20 years. She was also very active in the ministry of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Gold Canyon and served in several church related activities during the development and current functioning of the church. Mary Ann is survived by her husband Gary Hagen; two sons Scott Thomas (Laurie) Hagen of Elizabethtown, KY, Paul Sumner Hagen of Bloomington, MN; eight grandchildren Jonathan, Matthew, Erik, Joshua, Hannah, Abigail, Brier, and Claire. Her goulash is going to be well missed by her husband, children, and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Louis Aasen and Marion Aasen Hood. A memorial service will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Gold Canyon on January 18, 2014 commencing at 2:00 p.m. There will be a visitation at 1:00 p.m. The Family is planning another service in Minnesota this summer.
