He was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on December 17, 1951, the middle, and only son, of 3 children to Herbert Nelson and Margaret Drusilla (Fleming) Cole. Maynard graduated from South High School in 1970, continuing on with a career as a customer service representative for a printing company for over 40 years. In 2008 he relocated to Mesa, Arizona where he joined a team of security guards until January of 2014. His favorite hobby was to collect native pottery and art glass.
Maynard was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Margaret Cole. Maynard is survived by his sisters Brenda Bilek (Paul) of Mesa, AZ, Violet Cole of Omaha, NE; niece Lisa Cole-Mailander (Michael) of Omaha, NE; great nieces and nephews Courtney, Saebastion, and Anthony, all of Omaha, NE and many cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held in Omaha on May 28 at 10:30 am at Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5168 S 149th Ct., Omaha, NE 68137. Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park is entrusted with funeral arrangements.
