

Mayness “Doc” was born in Sutton WV to the late Ida Pauline and Harley S. Knight.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Roberta Marie Knight, children, Ida and Sam Male, Mesa AZ; Jim Knight, Lumberport WV; Kenny and Barbara Knight, Bridgeport WV; Richard and Traci Knight, Reynoldsville WV and Roger and Jan Knight, Salem SC.
Grandchildren Tyler, Jennifer and Megan Knight, Bluffton SC; Morgan Knight, Salem SC; Tara Male, Charlotte NC; Christopher (Jamie) Male, North Myrtle Beach SC; Rickey Bennett, Nebraska; Monica Riley and Debbie Bennett, WV, Lynndon and Roman Tharp, Clarksburg, WV. Great-grandson Dylan Riley, WV.
He is survived by twelve brothers and sisters, Samson (Wynonia) Knight, Darel (Mary) Knight, Jerry Knight, Dolan(Margaret) Knight, Gary (Dreama), Ernie (Sandy) Knight, Earl (Kaye) Knight, Sharon (Ernest) Smith, Glenna (Loren) Flanigan, Bertha Miller, Linda Walter and Isa Fury.
He is preceded in death by 4 children, Susan, Bobby, Jeffrey and Brian.

“Doc” served in the National Guard of West Virginia and an Airman in the Navy. Retired from the VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV, was a member of the American Legion Post 31 in Shinnston WV, and retired member of the Harrison County WV EMS.
He enjoyed fishing, reading, being outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a simple man but carried a lot of love in his heart for family and friends. In his retirement years he enjoyed consulting with Sam doing “field” work as they called it for Sam’s business.
