Nancy Ann Swanson Veck, 71, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving husband, sons, sister Amy, and close friends.
Born January 7, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, Nancy moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1965. She graduated from Catalina High School and pursued higher education at the University of Arizona. In Tucson, she met Frederick, who would become her husband when they married at St. Pius X Catholic Church in 1977.
The couple relocated to Florissant, Missouri, a place Nancy deeply cherished. There, she formed lasting friendships that endured throughout her life and welcomed her sons, Christopher and Matthew, who became the center of her world. In 1989, the family returned to Arizona, where Nancy built a vibrant community through her church and bunco groups.
Nancy will forever be remembered for her infectious laugh, joyous smile, and the kindness and care she extended to everyone around her. Her greatest joy in later years came from her five grandchildren, who brought immense happiness to her life.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Frederick; sons Christopher and Matthew; Matthew's wife Lyndsay; grandchildren Noah, Hudson, Grayson, Ella, and Theodore; siblings Maribeth Kelly, Thomas Swanson, and Amy Swanson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald A. Swanson and Patricia A. Swanson.
Services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Nancy's name to the Autism Society or Channing's Joy.
