Nicholas Scott Brown, of Chandler, passed away May 23, 2015 while camping with his closest friends. Born July 23, 1983 with a contagious smile, Nick dabbled in several activities before finding his niche in competitive shooting. This passion would grow into a lifelong appreciation for marksmanship. Shortly after graduating from Hamilton High School, Nick enlisted in the Marine Corps where he served in the amphibious assault unit. During his service, Nick completed tours of both Iraq and Japan. After being honorably discharged Nick went on to have a successful career in financial advising while working for Edward Jones.
Nick never met a stranger. His simple yet engaging nature gained the friendship of many, and he protected it fiercely. He never hesitated to drop everything to care for those he loved. In doing so, Nick became many things to many people- a counselor, a comedian, a confidant, a mentor. Nick had a tremendous appreciation for the outdoors and he rarely missed an opportunity to pitch a tent or put a line in the water. He was also an avid Arizona Cardinals fan and often rallied friends and strangers alike with his over the top support.
Nick is preceded in death by his grandmother Theresa Maestas. He is survived by his father Robert Brown and his wife Julie; his mother Barbara Ward and her husband Doug; his sister and brother-in-law Courtney and Matt Gross; his nephew Weston and niece Hannah; several aunts and uncles as well as numerous close friends.
