Nyla Vereé Van Brunt

Nyla V. Van Brunt, entered into rest on April 23, 2018. Beloved wife of Donald L. "Bud" Van Brunt; mother of Michael (Ellen) Van Brunt, Steven (Sharon) Castleberg, Cynthia (Wade) Hoff, Suzanne Castleberg, and step mother of Dr. Suzanne (Gary) Erickson, Dr. David (Carrie) Van Brunt and Christine (Paula) Hunter-Skeans, DVM. Grandmother of 13, including the late Christopher Van Brunt, and great-grandmother of 8; sister of Donna Goldberg, Judi Nelson, Richard (Nancy) Nelson, and the late Dolores Adamek, Harold, Myles and Bill Nelson. Our aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend of many.

Nyla was an active member of Leisure World Rovers, Tennis Club and Wisconsin Club. She was a talented craft artist, including crocheting, knitting and sewing. In addition, she created unique clothing, costumes, Christmas stockings, and original Barbie Doll wardrobes. She enjoyed gardening, baking and playing the organ.

In lieu of flowers the family will appreciate contributions to Sunshine Acres Children's Home, 3405 N. Higley Road, Mesa, Arizona 85215. A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 PM, Wed. May 2, 2018, at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Road, Mesa, Arizona 85206.
