

Born in Hammond, Indiana to Royal Asher Honeywell and Thelma Lucille Granger Honeywell on 01/20/1943. He was the 3rd of 7 children that were raised in Shelby, Indiana 30 miles south of Gary. Lee proudly served in the US Airforce, stationed in Turkey at a remote nuclear site for 2 ½ years. He was honorably discharged in 1966. Lee had many hobbies to include hunting, and fishing, archery and riding his dune buggy in the desert. Lee married the precious ruby of his life Connie Jean Gowin on May 4th, 1970 and had two daughters, Theresa and Rachel, that he loved dearly. Lee worked as a mechanic, heavy equipment operator, accomplished welder, plumber and ready-mix driver. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 428 and the Teamsters Local 104. Lee was not a perfect man and made mistakes which he was continuously trying to repent. In his handwritten will it states an apology for the pain he has caused. Lee passed away on April 23, 2021 at approximately 0745 peacefully on his terms at the Veterans Hospital in Phoenix Arizona from complications of heart and lung failure. He had an underlying condition of myelofibrosis caused by exposure during his service in Turkey that he fought well. Lee was preceded in death by his beloved wife Connie in 2012. Parents: Royal in 1982, Thelma in 2006. Brothers: Paul in 2002, Robert in 2016. Sister: Carolyn in 2017. Survived by Daughters: Theresa Carris and Rachel Honeywell. 6 Grand Children, and several Great Grand Children. Brothers: Don (Becky) Honeywell, David Honeywell. Sister: Ruth (Johnny) Counsel.
