A sister, aunt, mother and friend, affectionately known as Livie, passed away in her home on Easter with her son at her side. She was the youngest child of five born to Josephine and Arnulfo Valles in Tempe, Arizona. She was born with Spina Bifida against all odds and wasn’t expected to survive. But, she had a strong will and was loved and supported by her family and lived 60 years.
Recently she was diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing treatment. She was predeceased by her father Arnulfo, brother Tino, sister Estella Ruiz and nieces Elizabeth Ramirez and Elisa Samaniego. She is survived by her son Gabriel, her mother Josephine, brother Manuel and his wife Corina, brother Arnold and his wife Irene, half-brother Domingo and his wife Josie, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She enjoyed animals, traveling, crafting, learning about other cultures, and going to museums and the movie theater, especially to see fantasy and science fiction movies.
Please wear something with the color purple in her honor and remember her for her feistiness, strength, creative endeavors and her wit. As per her wishes, Livie will be cremated and her remains will be taken to San Diego for distribution.
