Duke was born on June 20, 1919 in Phoenix, AZ and passed away peacefully on April 19, 2010. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and proudly served as a Navy Seaman in WW II. Duke was preceded in death by Marjorie, his wife of 63 years, four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by two sisters, Merriam (John) Ramos and Shirley (Bud) Layton; six children, Marlys (Don) Cuzzocrea, Karon (Jim) Johnson, David (Penny) Merrill, Leslie (Joe) Divito, Renee’ and Jamie (Stan Suppes); 16 grandchildren, 26 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. A memorial service will held at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Road, Mesa, AZ on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM with inurnment at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
