Patricia Louise Shetler

Pat attended school in Hemingford until 1951 when the family moved to Fairfield, Montana where she graduated from high school as Valedictorian. She married Lee Allen Shetler June 9, 1952 and lived in various states while he served in the U.S. Air Force until 1961 when they moved back to Fairfield. Pat was a homemaker until 1976 and then became office manager at the local weekly newspaper (Fairfield Times) where she worked until 1982, after which she was the office manager at Greenfield Irrigation District, retiring in 1993. She was a member of the United Church of Christ serving in several capacities, a member of the local library board, the Montana State Library Association and also served on the national board for a time. After retirement, she and Lee traveled in their motorhome, revisiting some of the places they had lived while in the Air Force. In 1994 Pat moved with her husband to Mesa, AZ where she resided at the time of her death. She made a great number of friends in Mesa and loved living where it was warm. She also revisited her love of libraries by serving as a library volunteer. Pat is survived by two daughters, Lynne Monson (Larry), Littleton, CO; and Jill Landon (Chris), Idaho Falls, ID. Survivors also include six granddaughters: Michelle (Chris) Nyhus, Erica (Jordan) Hoaglund, Alycia (Zack) Holt, Brittney (Jeff) Shirley, Jasmine Linabary (Nate Chute), Jenaveve Linabary (John Mietus) and one grandson, Evan (Heather) Monson; thirteen great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Miles and Alice Nyhus; Gwendolyn and Liliana Hoaglund; Theodore Monson; Grayson Holt; Greer and Elouise Shirley; Jacob and Lila Linabary-Chute and James and Elise Mietus; sister, Linda Cunningham, Missoula, MT and two brothers, Richard and David Kloppel, Great Falls, MT. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee; daughter, Loralee; a sister, Carolyn; a brother, Kae, two brothers-in-law and her parents.

Cremation has taken place. Patricia's ashes will be placed in a columbarium at the United Church of Christ in Fairfield, Montana with her husband and daughter and other family members.
