
Paul Henry Slater of Gilbert, Arizona passed away on March 4, 2016. He was born February 11, 1920 in Steubenville, Ohio to William and Minnie Slater. He married his dear wife, Doretha, on March 7, 1942 in Champagne, Illinois. Paul worked as a salesman for Coca Cola for 39 years and another 25 years in customer service with grocery stores in Arizona and Florida. Paul was proud to have been a part of the US Army Air Corps During World War II. He loved his HO gauge model train setup that he built completely from scratch. It encompassed an entire room in their home in Florida and in Arizona. He loved playing tennis and did so right up to the age of 89 with his daughter, Carol. Ice cream and sweets were his all-time favorites to complete every meal. Paul loved music and to play his beautiful organ. He was self taught and quite good. He is survived by his loving wife; daughters, Carol, Barbara, and Paulette; grandchildren, Jamison, Anna, and Bobbi Jo; and great grandchildren, Eric, Bradley, and Madeleine. A Celebration of Paul’s life will be April 23, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Good Shepherd Villa in the Heimarck Memorial Chapel at 5848 E. University Drive Mesa, AZ 85205.
