Paula Rae Lowe Carter passed away on April 8, 2012 in Gilbert, AZ. She was the daughter of Arline Lowe of Wesley, ME and Louis Lowe. She is predeceased by her husband of 51 years, LeRoy S. Carter and also Linwood Archer, her beloved father all the years of her life. Paula was born in Machias, ME July 13, 1944 and attended Calais Memorial High School and Holy Rosary Commerical School after which she worked for Georgia Pacific Pulp and Paper in the Human Resources and Public Relations Dept. for 24 years before she moved to AZ. Paula leaves behind a son, Troy Carter, from Chandler, AZ, daughter, Jenny Guptill and son-in-law, Allen Guptill from Baileyville, ME, grandson, Joshua Guptill from TN, a granddaughter, Alicia Guptill, finance’ Chip Smith and great granddaughter, Karleigh Smith from Levant, ME, and half-sister, Sandy Gordon from Florida. She was a remarkable person, loving mother and our best friend. She will be missed by many friends and relatives. Paula loved painting, stained glass, woodworking, horseback riding, gardening and anything else she could create with her hands. One passion of her heart was her love of God and her church families. Remembrance services will be held at the Faith Family Fellowship church on Ocotillo on April 21st @ 3:00pm in remembrance donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Family Faith Church or Woodland Baptist Church in Baileyville, ME. There will be graveside services at a future date in Maine.
