Peter Franklin Conover

Peter Franklin Conover, 91, passed away on October 26, 2013 in Mesa, Arizona. Peter was born on April 27, 1922 to the parents of John Russell Conover and Jeanette Latourette Conover in Whitehouse, New Jersey. When Peter was a sophomore in high school his dad asked him to work in the mill with him, Peter chose going into the Army instead in 1943 to 1945. He then reenlisted into the Air Force in 1949 till 1953 when he retired from the military. During Peter’s career in the military he was honored with an American Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge with OLC, and a WWII Victory Medal. Peter married his wife June Hilser Conover on February 27, 1949 and together they brought two children into the world. Peter went on to work for the Roxbury School System till his retirement in 2004. After entering retirement Peter had time to enjoy his favorite pass time of gardening, growing pumpkins, and strawberries. When Peter was not in the garden he could be found inside watching the Yankee’s with his companion Sparky. Peter is survived by his Daughter Catherine Conover Ehninger (Ronald); Grandchildren Christopher David Stevens (Brandi), Christen Stevens RN (Spencer Doucet); Step Great-Grandson Dylan Jones; Brother John Conover; Nephew Robert Conover (Mary); Nieces Cathy Conover Mullen (Joe), and Eileen Conover Bechtel (Fred); and loyal companion Sparky, . Peter is predeceased by his Son David John Conover; Father John Russell Conover; and Mother Jeanette Latourette Conover. Services will be held at Mariposa Gardens Funeral Care 6747 E. Broadway Road Mesa, Arizona 85206 on Thursday November 7, 2013 at 3 o'clock pm.
