Phyllis H. Maugans, age 66, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2011 after battling multiple physical ailments. She was born in Rochester, New York to Emery and Marjorie Snyder (both deceased). She moved to Coolidge, Arizona when she was 5. She attended the University of Arizona where she met and married her husband, Bill. She was an educator and taught preschool many years with Head Start, St. Anthony’s Catholic School and The Caring Center. She was admired for her kindness and gentleness to others. She is survived by her loving husband, Bill; daughter Debbie Frazey (Mike); grandchildren: Brent (Allison), Kyle (Ashley), Marissa, Kacia, Garrett and Grant, two great-grandchildren and a sister, Bonnye Stuhr (Wayne). She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A private celebration of life will be held at her daughter’s home on Friday, July 22 at 9:30 a.m. In honor of her many years working with children, family suggests donations be made to San Tan Bible Church Children’s Ministry, 1162 W.
