Rachel Walkinshaw Archibald, most lovingly known as “Archie” passed away August 4, 2013 in Gilbert, Arizona. Born to Lewis Clark Walkinshaw and Bess Garvin Walkinshaw, Rachel arrived October 19, 1911 in Hempfield Township, Pennsylvania. She graduated high school in 1928 In the 1930’s she was married love of her life C.G. Archibald. On July 13, 1937 they were blessed with their son, Robert . During WWII, she lived with her family in Buffalo, NY. Her husband tragically passed away in 1950. In the 1960’s she moved to Arizona and immersed herself in her favorite pastime of music. She sang, played the violin, organ and piano skillfully and was proud to teach the arts to others. She spent her final years at the Citadel as well as Shady Pines Care Home where she was well taken care of. She is survived by her dear friends; Diana Smith, Lew Williams and Kimberly Marshall. At Archie's request, no services are planned.
