Raymond James McKernan, 86, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on September 2, 2014. He was born in New York City, New York on January 2, 1928. He was married to Patricia Wood on April 11, 1953. He served as a US Marine, he was a retired lieutenant of the Washington DC Police force and retired police aide of the City of Mesa Police Department. He is also remembered for his service as an Exalted Ruler and active member of the Mesa Buckhorn Elks, BPOE. His passions were life, golf, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Patricia and his grandson Michael. He is survived by his children Bridget, Timothy, Elizabeth, Susan and Peter; his grandchildren Matthew, Nicholas, Jennifer, Raymond, Gregory, Andrea, Emily, Scott and Connor; and his great-grandchildren Christian, Camran, Hayden, Holly and Gianna.
