Resurreccion Martinez

It is with both heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Resurreccion Jingco Martinez, on June 8, 2026, at St. Rose Dominican Hospital Siena Campus. Born on April 17, 1938, in the vibrant city of Manila, Philippines, Resurreccion was a beacon of love, kindness, and unwavering strength throughout her 88 remarkable years.

Resurreccion was the beloved daughter of Gregorio Sazon Jingco Sr. and Concepcion Lapid Maglalang, who instilled in her the values of compassion and resilience. She was preceded in death by her cherished parents, her brother Gregorio Maglalang Jingco, and her dear daughters Remedios Jingco Martinez and Ruth Martinez Holliday. Her legacy, however, continues to thrive in the hearts of those she leaves behind: her devoted husband of 61 years, Gonzalo Martinez Jr., her loving daughters Rowena Kutschman (Richard Jr.) and Rexalynn Walberg, and her treasured grandchildren, Dr. Marena Kutschman, LT USN, Marisa Kutschman, and Benjamin Canfield.

Educated at Santa Rita Institute, Resurreccion went on to pursue an Associate in Arts (Pre-Medicine) and a Bachelor of Science in Foods and Nutrition from Centro Escolar University. Her career was as diverse as it was impactful, beginning as a Dietician in a Family Clinic and later serving as a bookkeeper for the Philippine National Railroad. Upon moving to the United States, she took on roles at Marshal Fields and as a factory worker before dedicating herself to nurturing her family and others through home childcare.

Resurreccion’s life was enriched by her faith and dedication to service, exemplified through her role as a Eucharistic Minister at Corpus Christi in Phoenix, AZ, from 1996 to 2004. Her hobbies reflected a zest for life and modernity, from nurturing virtual crops on FarmVille to embracing the convenience of online shopping.

Known for her warm and generous spirit, Resurreccion effortlessly made anyone in her presence feel cherished and nourished—whether through her heartfelt conversations or her legendary culinary creations, crafted with her unique "tac tac this and tac tac that" approach to recipes. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends sampling her culinary creations

To honor and celebrate Resurreccion's life, services will be held on July 14, 2026, with a 9 am Sacred Readings at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park, 400 South Power Rd, Mesa AZ with burial service to follow at 11 am at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery & Funeral Home, located at 1562 E. Baseline Rd., Mesa, AZ 85204. Then we will return to Mariposa Cemetery at 12ish for drinks and hors d'oeuvres. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at St. Rose Dominican Hospital Siena Campus and West Henderson Hospital for their attentive care during Resurreccion's final days.

In the words of her family, "Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts." Resurreccion’s legacy of love and generosity will forever be a guiding light for those who were fortunate enough to know her. She may have departed this world, but the warmth she shared and the lives she touched will endure eternally.
