Richard Lee Baird

When Richard was just 8 months old, Wallace moved his family to Vernon Texas. This was where Richard grew up. Richard walked 5 miles daily to school. While in High School, he joined the marching band, and would go on to graduate from Vernon High School. He then went on to Texas Tech where he would graduate with a degree in Music. While he was at Texas Tech he joined the Air Force ROTC. He had a love of music, but would go on to join the Air Force. He wanted to be a Pilot. Richard served 21 years and retired in 1975 .After that, he went to work for the US Space Force in Vandenberg California.

In 2003, he moved to Mesa Arizona. Soon after,he would direct the chorus in our community.He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol A.Baird, and a Son Richard T. Baird. Richard passed peacefully with his family by his side at Advanced Health Care in Mesa. He is survived by his wife, Carole Burrows-Baird, Son Craig(Chrissy) Baird, daughters, Lee Ann Baird, and Karen Wysatta, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held: June 28, 2025 at First Presbyterian Church, 161 N. Mesa Drive, Mesa AZ. 85201 at 11:00 AM. Following the service there will be a luncheon at: Fountain East Community Hall, 303 S. Recker Rd. Mesa, Az. 85206
