I'm so sorry to hear of Richard's passing.  My thoughts, though late, are with his family.

Richard was the perfect example of always having a smile on his face, and giving everyone a hug as he entered the room. I can't ever remember one time where he was not that way. He had a strong love for his wife, kids, and grandkids, and was very good at showing that. Our prayers are with you Harris family, for peace and comfort as you continue forward in this journey. You are never alone and we are all here to support you in any way. We love you!

We are so sincerely sorry for your family's loss. Every time we saw Richard, he always had a big smile and was always so kind and friendly! You could tell just by watching him interact with James, Sunny, and especially his grand kids just how much he loved his family. He will be greatly missed. My grandfather was an amazing man. I was so lucky to have such a great, loving, and caring man in my life. He and my grandmother had raised me, even continued to do so after I became an adult. He taught me so many things in life that I think now, I probably should have written them down.  He would do anything within his power just to make all of us kids happy.  He was my "go to" person. If I had a problem with anything, I knew I could always count on him to point me in the right direction, as well as the rest of our family. He was our family rock. He taught all of us what the important things were in life, family and friend. He had such a big heart, a great laugh, and a smile that could light up the world, and a sense of humor that will make you laugh until your gut hurt. He made an impact on everyone that came into contact with him, especially me. I love him so much. I wish I could be even a fraction of the kind of person he was.

Our memories of Richard are so good.  Bryan's first memory of when he met him was..."That guy looks so familiar".  It took a little while for him to discover that Richard worked at Loyds Marine.  Bryan had been in several times over the years for parts/advice about our Gregor fishing boat and other boats we owned over the years.  We loved getting together for family birthday parties and occasional holidays.  Richard was always smiling and enjoying the company. He loved his grandchildren so.  He had such a positive effect on them.  We have seen so many great qualities and skills in James and Zach that they learned from him.  There are so many things he enjoyed doing with his family like hunting and camping.  Talking over these last days with Sunny, James, Susie, & Monika has been good.  We learned so many details about Richard meeting Sunny in Korea during his military service, their marriage at the American Embassy, their family life, and special memories of favorite places.  God loves you and has a plan that involves much more than this life.  May time and sweet memories bring you all peace and comfort.  We love you and you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I met Richard in December of 2006 when we purchased Loyds Marine in Mesa. He had been employed there for some 13 years or so as their parts manager. That day was the beginning of a beautiful friendship, although he would find that description "mushy". Working with Richard was great! His mechanical knowledge of, well, everything was endless. His stories of childhood were fascinating. His work ethic was without compare and he had a heart of gold. He will be missed a great deal by our employees not only as their colleague but as their close friend, hunting buddy, gunsmith, computer expert, and so on. Richard's family of coarse will miss him dearly. I know their sorrow is deep but their memories of him will help them through this difficult time. Let's all hope Richard is somewhere up "there" helping an old friend fix an engine or belting out orders to others on how it's going to get done! We love you and miss you.
