

Dick was born on July 17 1942 in South Bend, Indiana. He graduated from high school and moved to California where he married, started a family and attended the University of California at Irvine in it's opening year. He graduated with a B.A. in economics. He followed by working 10 years at The Ford Corporation and then in Saudi Arabia as a hospital administrator for The Whittaker Corporation.
His most extensive career was with The Boeing Company for 27 years in a wide variety of positions. Director of Contracts and Pricing on the initial Apache programs, Director of Business Operations for the Comanche Program Office, President of Team Apache Systems with Lockheed and GE, Director of A Model Apache Production Programs and International Apache Programs. In 2003 he was transferred to St. Louis as Director of the Manned Ground Vehicles program. He announced his retirement in 2006.
Dick was an avid golfer, fisherman, bird hunter and barbecuer. Cooking the quail and dove was a specialty of his. He is preceded in death by his father Bill, his mother Mary and two daughters Carol and Susan. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 34 years Dorothy, his daughter Cathi Bartlit (Chris), his son Bill, sister Ann Atkinson, grandchildren Shaun Sullivan (Regan), Ryan Sullivan, Colleen Deram (Tony), and Alexis Williams and 6 great grandchildren.
Donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association in Dick's name.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
