With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rito Gloria a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and friend, who passed away surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Tempe, Arizona, Rito later made Gilbert, Arizona his home, where he built a life centered around family, hard work, loyalty, and generosity. He was the proud father of 8 children and leaves behind an incredible legacy through his 26 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Rito was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Dora Gloria. Their love was unwavering, and he remained faithfully by her side until her passing on October 2, 1990. The love and dedication he showed to his wife and family throughout his life will never be forgotten.
A hardworking man through and through, Rito worked in the fields of Higley, Arizona, served in maintenance at Williams Air Force Base, and spent more than 20 years as a truck driver hauling hay, cotton, and other vital agriculture. He took pride in providing for his family and was respected for his strong work ethic and dependable nature.
To know him was to know kindness. He was the type of person who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need and was always the first to volunteer help for his loved ones. His generosity and selflessness touched countless lives.
He was also a loyal Arizona sports fan who proudly cheered for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Arizona Cardinals. Whether watching a game with Bobby or celebrating a big win, he loved supporting his home teams.
Rito, also known as Tata, will be remembered for his joyful spirit, his singing, and the whistles that became part of his everyday presence. Tata loved to dance and often playfully embarrassed his wife and family with his dance moves, always bringing laughter wherever he went. Above all, Tata’s beautiful smile could light up any room and make everyone around him feel welcome and loved.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the memories he gave us and the example he set through a life filled with love, strength, laughter, and generosity.
Tata’s singing, whistling, laughter, and love will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
