Married August 10, 1974 to his wife of 47 1/2 years, Dionisia "Joy" Carte. Bob loved Joy more than anything in this entire world. He is survived by his daughters, Shiela Carte, Katherine (Carte-Holley) Cook, Robin (Carte) Zebooloon; Son-in-law Oren Zebooloon; Grandchildren Kaleb Holley, Aria Holley, Aleksander Zebooloon, Remy Zebooloon, Monica Carte, and Olivia Cook; Brother Larry Carte from Nevada; Sisters Kathy (Carte) Walker and Diana (Carte) Cole from California.
He has always loved working and tinkering with engines and mechanicals ever since he bought his first car. He joined the US Navy right out of high school, traveled the world, fought in the Vietnam War, Married Joy, and raised a family. He continued to work with jet engines after honorably discharging from the Navy to spend more time with Joy and the girls. His career as a jet engine mechanic/machinist allowed him to work with top industry leaders General Dynamics, Lockheed, General Electric Aerospace, and Honeywell. He lived in Southern California most of his life with a few military duty segments in Millington, TN when the children were very young. After retirement, He and Joy settled down in Maricopa, AZ. He loved motorcycles and rode his Honda, rain or shine, for decades. His cycle riding days ended after a serious accident with an 18-wheeler that left him with two broken legs and a limp. But that did not slow him down. Years later, that accident had caused some complications with his reconstructed legs, which led to a stay at the VA hospital and the loss of his right leg. That did not stop him. He continued to work on projects, travel with Joy, and spoil his grandkids. He made some wonderful friends through the years and will always be known for his patience, knowledge, and loving personality. He is remembered by his family for his dedication to Joy, and Love for them. He will be strongly missed and forever loved. His "Celebration of Life" will be held following his Internment at the National Memorial Cemetery of Phoenix. Date and time to be announced and will occur in March 2022.
