

Robert graduated from High School in Clinton, MO,class of 1948. He met his wife, carolyn Jane Gilliam at a skating rink when she was in8th grade. They dated 4 years before marrying on August 27, 1950. They were blessed with two boys, Robert Michael and Scott Bradley.
On July 3, 1951 the US Army drafted Robert . He attended basic training in Norfolk, VA and was sent directly to Korea. In July 1953 he served in the National Guard in Clinton, MO. Robert and Carolyn settled in Kansas City, MO where he worked for Kansas City Power & Light from August 1953 until he retired in 1984. Additionally, he worked as a maintenance man for the Blue Ridge Clinic for 20 years and owned his own lawn service.
Robert and Carolyn moved to Quincy, MO in February 1985 to retire and were involved in the community, mowing and maintained the Quincy Hall.
He enjoyed being outside, feeding wild turkeys, cutting wood, riding motorcycles with his sons, CB radio, wood working, fishing, camping with the Good Sam's club and going to bluegrass festivals at Conway, MO. He was a loving husband, kind friend, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Carolyn, 2 sons; Robert Michael and wife Ginger in Mesa, AZ, Scott Bradley and wife Stephanie in Kearney, MO. Four grandchildren: Heather and husband Octavio Perez in San Diego, CA, Michelle and husband Shane Carr in Mesa, AZ, Samantha Daugherty and wife Jennifer May in St. Louis, MO, Spencer and wife Brianna Daugherty in Smithville, MO. Great grandchildren: Conor Aidan, Davis, Zerah, Ellis, Nachena, Kendy and Guitson Carr in Mesa, AZ, Jaycee and Roman Perez in Sand Diego, CA. A sister Meryle Marie Roberts in Osceola, MO. Evelyn and Ray Daugherty in Ozark, MO. Nieces, nephews, and many great friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Clem and Laura Daugherty, and Stepmother Mary, sister Betty Irene Austin, aunts and uncles.
