I have so many remembrances time with the Smazer , as I called him.  It is hard to break them down to just one. 
Maybe, it could have been, after we came home from Vietnam and finished with Miam Dade, we headed to Michigan to visit Rod's sister Gail and her family.
We drove up in Rod's Camaro, through the Tennessee Mountains. We each took a turn who can make it down to the bottom of the hills faster.  I let him win, it was his car.  
Finally, arriving in Bloomington Hills.  We drove all of the Detroit city seeing what we could see.   We stopped at a lite, waiting for green, Rod revs up the engine, looks at the car next to us and punches it.  The guy next to us was a little faster, gets next to us and turns on his police lights.  Rod gets arrested and taken to jail, I drove his car to the station, paid his bill and went out to eat, only I had to drive.  
We had crazy times like this together.  I miss him very much.  Our neighborhood, was a group of fun-loving young men.

I can't believe it has been 2 years since Rod left us.  I think about him often and the fun we had, the troubles we had and the love that we sharded.  
My heart goes out to the Debbie and Joe.  Also, the entire Mazer family John and Gail and many more.
Private note:  When you are traveling around up there, tell your mom I miss her and if you see my mom say hello.  Two great ladies and cooks.  
Nite Rod.

Rod and I have been friends and unfriends for many years.  I am so happy that we became buddies again.  His sister Gail brought us back together a few years ago.  Rod was Rod if you know what I mean.  He is now in a much better place, no speeding tickets or people chasing us out of Hialeah at gun point.  We just did a lot together and memories I will never forget.  Rest in peace Smazer (that is what I use to call him).

Thanks for the laughs Rod and for accepting me even though my ‘53 Bel Air was a four door.  Rest In Peace Rodfather!!

My Condolences to the Mazer family.  I was lucky enough to work with Rod at Mariposa Gardens for about a year or so and man, he was one of the coolest guys around.  He always stopped in and made us laugh.  He is a great fella and will be missed by us here are Mariposa.

Rest in peace sweet Rodney… You are one of the best of 65! 

I was saddened to hear of Rod's passing.    We have been Via Margarita neighbors almost since the communities beginnings.  Rod always had a smile and a wave as he played his music and worked on that beautiful car.  My prayers are with Deb and his family.  

Deborah - we are so sorry to learn of Rod’s death. We were former neighbors on Via Margarita. We enjoyed watching Rod as he cared for his cars - he was so proud of them. 
We will keep you in prayer.
