Sallie Grace (Fox) Widder, 95, of Gilbert Arizona passed away on Thursday October 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of her children. Sallie was born on August 4, 1931, in Lorain, Ohio to Flavia (Austin) and Dennis Fox Sr. She graduated from Lorain High School in Ohio. Sallie shared an extraordinary bond with her husband, James R Widder Sr. Having been married nearly 71 years before his passing in 2022, together they built a beautiful life and raised a large and loving family.
Throughout her life she has had several different careers, including banking and sales. Her most important career was that of wife, mother and grandmother, that was her passion in life, caring for her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband James and son Charles, she is survived by her children Mary (Daniel), Patricia (Michael), James (Koreen), John (Shelley), Nancy (Timothy), Edward and daughter in law Laura. Sallie also leaves behind the treasured legacy of numerous grandchildren including great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.
Sallie was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. She will be missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. Visitation will be held at Mariposa Gardens at 400 S. Power Road, Mesa AZ 85206 on Wednesday November 4, from 4 to 8 pm and Funeral Services at Holy Cross Church, 1244 S Power Rd, Mesa AZ 85206 on Thursday November 5 at 11 am with burial to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery at 1562 E Baseline Road, Mesa AZ 85204.
