Sandra “Sandy” Margaret (Schneider) Ven Roy passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, in Mesa, Arizona. Born on November 14, 1944, in Yuba City, California, to Alton “Bud” and Mae (Clark) Schneider, Sandra lived a life defined by love, creativity, and devotion to her family.
If you asked Sandy about her greatest achievements, she wouldn’t point to a corporate title. Her proudest family moment and most treasured career accomplishment was being a wonderful wife, a devoted mother, and giving birth to her two children, Kelly and David. She shared 62 beautiful years of marriage with her husband, Terry, building a lifetime of memories together, including traveling across the country in their RV.
Her life was a reflection of her own best advice: "Always smile." Sandy brought warmth into every room, and her home was always filled with laughter. That joy was reflected in how much she loved decorating her house, which was often accompanied by the sounds of her favorite song, "More" by John Gary, and filled with her favorite color, green. She was exceptionally talented and found great joy in working with her hands as a highly crafty and artistic woman who loved to paint, needlepoint, and sculpt. She also loved the kitchen, where she expressed her love for others through cooking and baking. Above all, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren, especially reading to them and making them their favorite snacks.
Sandra is survived by her loving husband and best friend , CMSGT Terry Ven Roy (Ret); her children, Kelly (Mark) Walker and David (Paula) Ven Roy; her sister, Terry (Jesse) Pilcher; and her sister-in-law, Julie Kirrmann. She also leaves behind a legacy of 9 grandchildren and their partners: Tony and Wanda, Johnny and Tiffany, David and Felisha, Holly and Tim, Shelby and Corbin, Noah and Rachel, Faithlyn and Nathan, Eyan and Hannah, and Ivy and Nolan. She is further survived by 9 great-grandchildren (with another on the way), 1 great-great-grandchild, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alton “Bud” and Mae (Clark) Schneider; her sister, Cecelia Bonner; and her brother-in-law, Jack Kirrmann.
With profound gratitude, our family extends our deepest thanks to Shari Hamblin for her selfless, tireless care over the past several months. We are also infinitely grateful to Nobel Hospice for their extraordinary compassion and support during these final months; you were truly guiding angels to our family when we needed it most.
