

Sharon Louise Rauworth, 83, of Mesa, Arizona passed away December 6, 2020. She was born January 1, 1937 in DeKalb, Illinois to Geoffrey Radcliffe and Alma Louise (Reingardt) Baker. Sharon married the love of her life, Herbert Charles Rauworth at the Methodist Church in DeKalb, Illinois on June 14, 1964 and raised three boys - Marc, Darin and Eric. She worked at Northern Illinois University for over 25 years in the athletic and theatre departments before moving to Mesa, Arizona upon retirement in 2001. Even in retirement, Sharon stayed connected to her DeKalb roots and coordinated an annual reunion luncheon for former DeKalb residents living in Arizona.
Sharon had artistic talent and shared her creativity through ceramics, cross-stitch, and quilting. She loved Christmas and her figurines and cross-stitch holiday projects continue to grace the homes of many friends and family members. She also enjoyed genealogy, spending countless hours researching and sharing her knowledge with others.
Sharon is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Herb Rauworth; sons Marc Rauworth of DeKalb, IL, Darin (Jennifer) Rauworth of Chicago, IL, and Eric (Amy) Rauworth of Hoover, AL; and her grandchildren Katie and Lauren of Hoover, AL and Ella and Henry of Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Geoffrey and Alma and her siblings, Marilyn Jean, Avis, Joe, Betty, Jack, Don and Daniel.
Arrangements entrusted to Mariposa Gardens. Private services will be held for family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association.
