Socrates De Leon Viray, born in Didiangas, General Santos, Philippines on August 30, 1957 as the 8th child of a large family of 10 siblings. Experiencing the loneliness with his siblings from the loss of their parents. Growing up was difficult. With no motivation to continue his studies, he dropped out of high school before his Senior year and entered the GED into the US Military, where he was able to travel and meet new people.
His life took a complete turn when he became a member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo or Church of Christ in 1988. Though there still continued to be trials and challenges, he received the best of everything he can ask for and more. His duty as a Deacon and his faith allowed him to gain irreplaceable happiness.
He was a brother always concerned about his siblings’ well-being and most of all the security of their spiritual welfare. He never stopped to remind and invite his loved ones and friends into the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ). When inviting people, he would let them know that he has a big family all over the world and that was the brethren in the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ). There was never a day where he did not share his faith by means of handing out a Pasugo or an INCmedia card. He was always prepared to meet someone wherever he went.
As a loving husband and father, he did and taught many things to always keep his family safe especially when it came to the true faith. He reminded us that whether he is still here or not, that his concern is that his loved ones are secured inside the true Church. His joy was always performing his duty with his family everyday and that was enough.
Onward, with the reminders and guidance he left us, we are here to finish our race no matter what...
