

Steven James Dennis, of Queen Creek, Arizona, passed away on June 14, 2023, at the age of 62, at his home in San Tan Valley, Arizona. Steve was born in Brooklyn, New York, on May 21, 1961, to James and Georgette Dennis.
Steve lived in Queens, New York, until his family moved to Aurora, Colorado when Steve was 14. Steve was on the track team (shot put) and football team at Gateway High School in Aurora, from where he graduated in 1980.
He was known for his enthusiastic love of music and was one of Bruce Springsteen’s biggest fans. He went to numerous concerts, frequently with his best friend Tracy Mortimer, who was like a brother to Steve.
Steve was also a diehard fan of the New York Rangers, New York Yankees, Denver Broncos, and Denver Nuggets. He was thrilled when the Nuggets made the playoffs this year and lived to see them finally win the championship.
Steve went to school to be a mechanic. He worked for United Airlines for over 20 years, which is where he met his wife Tammy. Steve married Tammy on February 12, 2000. Steve moved to Arizona with his wife in 2012.
Everyone who knew Steve recalls him as a kind, caring person with a great sense of humor. He loved to make people laugh. He will be dearly missed by so many.
Steve is survived by his wife Tammy Dennis; son James Dennis; stepdaughters Jennifer (Caleb) Lowry and Jessica Bandt; stepson John (Erin) Bandt; grandchildren Castor, Cody, Sophie, Payton, and Cassandra; brother Michael (Jennifer) Dennis; and sister Patricia (Herbert) Wypler. Steve was proceeded in death by his parents.
A memorial service for Steven will be held Monday, June 26, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Care, 400 South Power Road, Mesa, AZ 85206.
