Susan Carole Haber
October 13, 1942 – January 11, 2020
Susan C. Haber, age 77 of Tempe, AZ passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on January 11, 2020. Susan “Sue” was born October 13, 1942, to Willis and Mildred Kelly of Louisville, KY. She moved to Arizona as an adolescent where she was raised by her mother and stepfather Joe Montana. She graduated from Tempe High and raised her three boys in Arizona.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents and brother Roger Kelly.
Susan is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Bill Haber of Tempe, AZ; Sisters, Debbie (Steve) Falk and JoAnne (Bill) Caldwell of Oregon her Sons, Mark (Mindy) Serrano of Alamo, CA, Ricky (Diana) Serrano of Tucson, AZ, and Brian (Kaylan) Haber of El Dorado Hills, CA; Grandsons, Estevan Serrano, Derek (Malisa) Serrano, Diego Serrano; Granddaughters, Lauren Serrano, Samantha Serrano, Hayden Haber and Emerson Haber; Great-Grandchildren Talen, Lyla and Shiloh Serrano and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Sue had a unique ability for connecting with people everywhere she went. She especially loved children, spending much of her life caring for grandchildren and children of friends and earned the name “Nana” to most children. “Nana” had a heart of gold and loved to spoil everyone, especially all 7 grandchildren often carrying toys and treats in her bags to surprise them, mani/pedi trips, and making sure everyone had the latest and greatest gadgets. Nana Sue had a special connection to animals over the years and adored her standard poodles and cats. She had a love for travel, lattes and handbags. She enjoyed flying from place to place so much that she chose to work at the airlines, which allowed her to travel to many amazing places…she loved her non-rev access. She was a caring and compassionate wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all that were lucky enough to know her.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 1st 11a.m at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 S. Dobson Road, Mesa, AZ.

Sue, like all families we have to bid fond adieu to a beloved and cherished loved one------my thoughts of you are not sadness, but remembering the love you always displayed to us all------you were a happy and giving person and, since I am closing in on 92 years old I will not say goodbye---I will just meet you at sundown and hope to sit in one of your parties as only you could arrange! Thank you, dear lady for many happy times and your lovely presence. Baba
