Susan Lynn Nelson

Susan was born on May 11, 1953, in Crookston, Minnesota, to Jerald and Marion Kaltenberg. She grew up alongside her siblings David, Richard, Gary, Doug, and Connie in a family full of love, laughter, and strong family bonds.

On July 11, 1975, Susan married the love of her life, Rodger Nelson. Together they built a wonderful life filled with love, family, and many happy memories until Rodger’s passing in 2019.

Susan worked as a medical secretary at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, where she was known for being kind, dependable, and always willing to help others. She truly cared about people, and that showed in both her work and everyday life.

She loved reading, crafting, and especially making handmade cards for family and friends. It was one of the many ways she showed people she was thinking of them. Susan had a gentle, caring nature and always wanted the people around her to feel loved and included.

Susan is survived by her daughter, Sarah Pyle, her son, Scott Nelson; her son-in-law Zach Pyle; her grandchildren, Cathal and Dawn Pyle; and her siblings Richard, Gary, Doug, and Connie.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rodger, her brother David, and her parents Jearld and Marion.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Lakeshore Mortuary. Family and friends are invited to come together to remember Susan and celebrate the kindness, warmth, and love she shared so freely with others.

Susan will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
