September 27, 1931-January 30, 2014
Ted was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas in 1931, and graduated from Mesa High School in 1949. He married Helen Juanita Magnusson on June 6, 1953. He served in the Marine Corps, stationed at Camp Pendleton, California, and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. He learned to survey in the corps, and soon began a career with Southern California Edison. There he attained his Registered Land Surveying licenses in both California and Arizona, and became Chief of Parties for the survey department. He moved his family back to Arizona in 1973 to start his own business, Poole and Associates, in the land survey industry. It is nearly impossible to travel anywhere in the valley and not pass by an engineering project that he was involved in.
He is survived by his wife Juanita, of 60 years; Sister Virginia Pomerantz of Show low, AZ; brother Ned Poole of Nipomo, CA; his three sons, Wade, Brian, and Tim (all Registered Land Surveyors) and his daughter Jennifer, all from Mesa, AZ and their respective families.
