Age, 68, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on January 14, 2013. Born in Detroit, Michigan to Theodore Vernagus and Edith Hart, he arrived on February 17, 1944. Ted served four years in the US Army during the Vietnam War. On October 1, 1965, he married the love of his life, Carmen Vernagus in Lordsburg, New Mexico. They raised a family together while Ted worked for the Arizona Department of Corrections as a corrections officer. Ted is survived by his mother, Edith Hart; his loving wife of 48 years, Carmen Vernagus; his children, Patricia (Scott) Parchem Vernagus, Teddy (Laureen) Vernagus III, Elizabeth Zuniga Vernagus, Kathleen Schude Vernagus, and Kristine Vernagus; his grandchildren, Audry (Brian) Riley, Victoria Bright, Vincent Vernagus, Thomas Valiant, Alex Zuniga, Michael Zuniga, Gabriel Zuniga, Shania Zuniga, Jyssica Schude, Reagan Schude, Bailee Vernagus; and his great-grandchildren, Alexis Riley, AJ Riley, Jazlene Salazar, Angel Zuniga, Anthony LeSueur, Marley Bright, Lenox Bright. Ted was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Vernagus Sr.; his brother, Richard H. Vernagus; and his daughter Bernadine Sena.
