Thomas Lewis Ashe, 70, born November 25th, 1942, passed away Tuesday, March 5th, 2013 after a long courageous battle with breast cancer. He was born in Brooklyn, New York and settled in Arizona in the late 1960’s. He currently resided in Gold Canyon, Arizona.
Tom loved fishing, camping, golfing and woodworking. He cherished time spent with his many retrievers over the years. Tom was a renowned expert in space power systems for over 40 years and retired from Honeywell in 2001. Tom was an active member of the Gold Canyon United Methodist Church.
Tom is survived by his wife of 8 years, Dee, and only son Christopher, as well as his two stepdaughters, Renee Hanson and Whitney Wyckoff. He is preceded in death by his former wife of 25 years, Susan Ashe, parents Ruth and Lewis Ashe, and sister Norma Weiss.
Public visitation for Tom will be held Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Mariposa Garden Memorial Park and Funeral Care, 6747 E. Broadway Rd, Mesa AZ 85206. A private burial will be held at the City of Mesa Cemetery. A Memorial/ Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday April 6th 2013 at 2:00PM at Gold Canyon United Methodist Church, 6640 S. Kings Ranch Road, Gold Canyon, Arizona, 85118. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Tom’s name to be made to Gold Canyon United Methodist Church/Pastor’s Discretionary Fund for financial assistance to those in need or the University of Arizona Foundation/UA Cancer Center.
