Thomas Stanley Collins Sr.

Thomas Stanley Collins Sr, of Mesa, AZ passed away on May 19, 2016 at the age of 85. He was born September 17, 1930 in Dayton, OH to Stanley Arthur and Helen Elizabeth [Foos] Collins. Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from October 25, 1948 until August 22, 1952. On August 23, 1952, he married the love of his life, Mary Evelyn Williams and together they raised two children, Debbie and Thomas Jr. Thomas loved the outdoors, fishing, camping in the mountains and rock collecting; but nothing meant more to him than his family. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his loving wife of 63 ½ years, Mary Evelyn Collins; daughter Debbie Acosta and husband Gino; son Tom Collins Jr and wife Janis.; his sister Aletha Lee; grandchildren Thomas Collins III, Dawnyal Wolfe and husband Shane, Crystal Lorenz and husband Patrick and Anthony Collins; his great grandchildren Jayden, Taven, Tytan, Landon, Caylee and Brody as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is also survived by Tom Jr’s ex-wife and the mother of his children, Terri Bergen. A visitation will be held at Mariposa Gardens Funeral Care 400 S. Power Rd, Mesa AZ on Monday, May 30, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00pm. A funeral service will be at 10:00am, Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Broadway Christian Church, 7335 E. Broadway Rd, Mesa, AZ with the interment to follow at 12:30pm at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix. Arrangements entrusted to Mariposa Gardens (480) 830-4422
