Thomas W. Shields, 78, of Mesa, AZ passed away on November 19, 2015. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 30, 1937. Thomas received his GED and went to college for two years at Point Park. He married MaryJane on February 11, 1961. Tom had a career with the US Postal Service. He was a member of the Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, and Boy Scouts. Tom was a great artist and photographer. Tom is survived by his wife, MaryJane Shields; sons, Timothy A. Shields, Todd A. Shields, and Thomas A. Shields; grandchildren, Ashley Goff, Matthew Shields, Tanner Shields, and Tyler Shields; brothers, Scott Shields and Al Shields. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Tara A. Shields. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 24 from 6pm-8pm at Melcher Mortuary Mission Chapel, 6625 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ 85205. A Funeral Mass will be held St. George Catholic Church, 300 E. 16th St., Apache Junction, AZ 85119 with burial to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
