Tommy Warren Wallace, age 80, of Mesa, Arizona passed away at home on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Tommy was born in Centerville, Iowa to parents parents; Palmer and Genevieve Wallace. As a young boy, Tom loved helping his uncle Harry on the Milani family farm. He graduated from Central High School in Davenport, Iowa, class of 1962. After completing High School, Tom then joined the Marines and spent 13 months in Vietnam.
While on a blind date, Tom met the love of his life and soon to be wife, Nancy Hardman. They were joined in marriage on July 15, 1967. Upon discharge from the Marines, they settled in Davenport, Iowa, where Tom worked as an Ironworker for Union Local 111 out of Rock Island, Illinois. Tom then moved his family to Arizona in 1986, taking a job with City of Mesa. He later retired in 2005.
Tom and Nancy then moved to Lincoln, Montana. There Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, and leather work. In 2015, they returned to Mesa, Arizona. There Tom enjoyed sitting on his front porch, drinking beer, telling old stories and talking politics.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents; Palmer and Genevieve Wallace and his daughter Rebecca Wallace. Tom is survived by his wife; Nancy Wallace, his sons; Jef Wallace and Daniel Wallace, Daughter; April Smalley (Wallace), and six granddaughters and one grandson.
Military honors will be rendered in his honor at a Graveside Service on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 10:00am at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park; 6747 E. Broadway Rd. Mesa, Arizona 85206.
Following the service, there will be coffee and cake at the Wallace home. Family and friends are welcomed to join them.
