Valeria Irene Marcil was born to David and Edna Doner on March 31, 1919 in Brookings, South Dakota. She attended schools in Brookings and South Dakota State University. She taught at Watertown Commercial College for two years and was a private secretary and public stenographer in St. Paul, Minnesota and Inglewood, California. She married Paul Marcil on Feb. 2, 1946 and lived in Brookings and Dell Rapids before moving to Worthington in 1950. She worked for many years for the E. J. Windschill accounting firm, and for 17 years wrote a verse column for the Worthington Daily Globe. She was a member of the Tourist Club, 8:30 Club, P.E.O. Chapter BT, and the Methodist Church. In December of 1978 she and her husband moved to Mesa, Arizona where they have since made their home. She is survived by one son, Wayne, of Show Low, Arizona, one nephew, and four nieces. Valeria is preceded in death by her husband, Paul, and brothers Keith and Dean. The family requests memorials to go to the David B.
